Browse for cars
A full web browser for Android Automotive OS
Read, watch and search on your car's display with a real engine underneath, and controls that suit the cabin.
What you get
Made for the way you use a car
Every feature below ships in the current in-vehicle store version.
Mozilla GeckoView engine
Built on GeckoView, Mozilla's Android version of Gecko, the engine behind Firefox. A full, standards-based browser in your dashboard.
Touch, rotary and D-pad
Tap as you would on any screen, or move a clear focus ring across the page with a rotary knob or D-pad.
Steering-wheel media keys
Control playback with the media buttons on your steering wheel.
Video while parked
Watch video while the car is parked. Switch to another app and the audio keeps playing.
Respects the road
Once the car moves, playback on the driver's display pauses behind a driving notice. Passenger displays keep browsing where the car supports it.
Voice search
Search by voice through your car's voice assistant, where your vehicle offers one.
Jump back in one step
Press and hold Back or Forward to see the pages on that side and go straight to the one you want.
Keyboard-aware forms
When the in-car keyboard opens, the field you are typing in stays in view.
Fewer cookie pop-ups
Many cookie banners are handled for you automatically, so you spend less time tapping through them.
No account, no ads
No sign-up and no ads in the app. Browse never accesses your device's location and always declines website location requests.
Driving
It steps aside when the car moves
Browse follows your car's driving restrictions. On the driver's display, playback pauses and a notice covers the screen until the restrictions end. Passenger displays keep browsing where the car supports it.
