Mozilla GeckoView engine
Built on GeckoView, Mozilla's Android version of Gecko, the engine behind Firefox. A full, standards-based browser in your dashboard.
Browse is a web browser for Android Automotive OS, built on Mozilla's GeckoView engine. Use it with touch, a rotary knob or your steering wheel. When the car moves, it keeps the driver's display clear.
Features
Everything you'd expect from a modern browser, with controls and safety rules designed for the car.
Built on GeckoView, Mozilla's Android version of Gecko, the engine behind Firefox. A full, standards-based browser in your dashboard.
Tap as you would on any screen, or move a clear focus ring across the page with a rotary knob or D-pad.
Control playback with the media buttons on your steering wheel.
Watch video while the car is parked. Switch to another app and the audio keeps playing.
Once the car moves, playback on the driver's display pauses behind a driving notice. Passenger displays keep browsing where the car supports it.
Search by voice through your car's voice assistant, where your vehicle offers one.
Press and hold Back or Forward to see the pages on that side and go straight to the one you want.
When the in-car keyboard opens, the field you are typing in stays in view.
Many cookie banners are handled for you automatically, so you spend less time tapping through them.
Driving
Browse follows your car's driving restrictions. On the driver's display, playback pauses and a notice covers the screen until the restrictions end. Passenger displays keep browsing where the car supports it.
Devices
One browser and one design language across the screens in your life.
Browse for Android Automotive OS, from the app store in your car where offered.
Browse for carsBrowse on the big screen.
Browse in your pocket.
Browse has no account and no ads in the app. It never reads your device's location and declines websites that ask for it. In our analytics, web addresses are cut down to the site, and page titles are never sent.
Browse is distributed through in-vehicle app stores. Open the app store on your car's display and search for Browse by Dart Technologies. Whether it's offered depends on your vehicle's maker and your region. Browse isn't available as a direct download, so install it from your car's app store to receive updates.

For automakers
Browse installs as a standard Android Automotive OS app and builds on the platform's own driving-restriction and occupant-zone signals.
